Peace and Order
The
Barangay has twenty (20) Tanods, four
outposts, a Multi cab utilize as patrol
car and forty-one (41) handheld radios,
to effectively monitor the situation
in the Barangays for 24 hours and under
the jurisdiction of Police Precinct
4, in Mabolo, Cebu City. Members of
the Tanod Force frequents undergo seminars
to enhance their skills in the maintenance
and preservation of peace and order.
Established
linkages with Crusade Againts Violence
(CAV), headed y Ms. Thelma Chiong, to
help the victims of heinous and violent
crimes; with Lihok Filipina Foundation
and Legal Alternatives for Women Center
Inc. (LAW Inc.) for problems on Domestic
Violence and all offences against women;
in coordination also with the Police
Women’s Desk. Coordinates also
with the Children’s Legal Bureau
and DSWD for juvenile offenders.
Health
and Sanitation
The
Barangay has a newly renovated Health
Center, manned by a Medical Health Officer,
Dr. Merlina Sabang; a nurse, a midwife,
a dentist and six Barangay Health Workers
and one Brgy. Nutrition Scholar. The
Health Center offers Pre Natal Care,
deliveries, Well Baby, Medical Consultation
and Immunization and Dental Services.
Medical Missions are done twice a year
courtesy of International Pharmaceuticals
Incorporated Foundation and Honda Cars,
Cebu, so is Operation Tuli and continous
supplemental feeding for malnourished
children. The barangay has purchased
P400,000.00 worth of assorted medicines
for health center and purchased dumptruck
to haul garbage in the different sitios
of the barangay. Conducts information
drive on proper waste disposal and implementation
of City Ordinance 1361. Encourage residents
to join Tree Planting, making of community
gardens and backyard vegetable planting.
Proper garbage disposal is conducted
regularly as a measure to prevent the
spread of diseases.
Education
The
Barangay is 80% squatters and 20% private
lot owners. Most squatters are located
in a government lot. With the declaration
of Socialized Housing Ordinance, Cebu
City, Sitio Pagutana, Lower Betania,
Upper Stephenson and Anagan were awarded
to the actual occupants.
Outreach
Programs
Daycare
centers were established at Sitio Panabang
and at La Guardia.
